India proposes three year plan for renewable energy development

The India government has recently proposed the development of renewable energy planning for three years, announced that it will build solar and wind power projects in the next three years, more than 100 GW (equal to 1 GW 1000 MW), the total installed capacity in 2022 is expected to reach 200 gw.

According to the "India economic times" reported on 26, India new energy and renewable energy Deputy Minister Anand Kumar said recently, according to the plan, to the end of fiscal 2020, wind power projects in India will add more than 80 gigawatts of solar power projects and 30 gw.

Previously, the India government has launched a plan to be in five years to increase renewable energy generation capacity to 175 gw. Market participants believe that the new three year renewable energy construction plan for the previous five year plan was refined, will effectively speed up the construction of solar energy projects and promote the development of wind power equipment, accelerate the completion of the five year plan.

It is reported that the new plan gives a timetable for the specific progress of solar and wind energy projects in the next three years. Among them, the fiscal year will add 16.4 gigawatts of solar power generation capacity, the next two fiscal year will add 30 gigawatts of solar power. Wind power, as of the end of this financial year will add 4 gigawatts of wind power, the next two fiscal year respectively 10 GW of new wind power. Offshore wind power project in the next three years will be built 5 GW, and plans the construction of wind and solar hybrid power generation project.

According to the India Ministry of new and renewable energy data, as of the end of September this year, India renewable energy generation capacity is 62.5 GW, accounting for about 1/5 of the installed capacity of electric power. Wind power and solar energy installed capacity was 32.7 GW and 17 GW, accounting for about 10% of the total capacity and 5%.
