Bauxite mining and aluminum oxide is gradually developing in Jamaica. Jiuquan iron and Steel Group has pledged to invest 3 billion dollars in three years to expand and upgrade an alumina refinery with an annual capacity of 1 million 650 thousand tons. The plant was put into operation in June this year. Minister Mike Henry said that the expansion project will increase the annual capacity of the plant to 2 million tons by the end of 2020.
In addition to the Jamaica aluminum joint venture company's main expansion plan, the investment of Jiuquan iron and Steel Group will also include the following projects:
