According to the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. International Trade Commission, 5 months before this year, the United States scrap export volume of 609148 tons and 540239 tons, compared to the same period last year, up nearly 13%.
The overall rise in exports reflects the growth of the United States China scrap procurement volume, 5 months before this year, compared Chinese purchase amount is 283543 tons and 322415 over the same period last year, up 13.7%.
The United States to scrap exports in Hongkong Chinese rose 83.8% to 30066 tons. South Korea is another big market for U.S. scrap, the demand grew by 31.9% to 71626 tons.
Mexico and India also increased their purchasing capacity, with the former increasing by 12.2% to 59122 tons, while the latter increased by 29.2% to 26546 tons. By comparison, Canadian purchases fell by 5.1% to 45744 tonnes.
