LME said it would cut short and medium-term carry trade charges from October 1st

London (September 7th) - the London Metal Exchange (LME) said Thursday it will cut short and medium-term carry trade charges from October 1st to support its physical subscriber base and encourage its daily data structure.

The exchange said: "LME will reduce the arbitrage transaction costs, and in order to ensure the fairness of the LME fee structure, will introduce a new OTC trading (OTC) fees, January 1, 2018 effective."."

The short-term arbitrage trading fees of floor members and electronic trading platform LMEselect will be lowered to $0.15 and $0.25 respectively. Customer short-term arbitrage contract fees will be lowered to $0.25.

Since November 1st, a new medium-term arbitrage transaction fee will be introduced. Site members and electronic trading platform LMEselect, such transactions will be reduced to $0.25 and $0.45 respectively.
